MELANCHOLY

Though my hands are quick to vent not in the choicest diction of a seasoned poet,

yet, an outpouring of the mind and heart of a demeaned gentleman for soon enough:

Solitude is misconstrued for sadism

And sadism the exchange of melancholy

Neither right nor wrong;

Perhaps it’s the world’s way of judging things disorderly.

Our temperaments are what has set us all apart

Unable to explore their minds for we couldn’t be burdened in their shoes

Yet we claim to have won the same shoes

Maybe on different feet’s

They were neither discouraged nor subsumed, trusting daily to meet with the demands of communism from which they were ditched in the culture of materialist consumerism;

Their lives are but an open book glaringly starring at us all.

Theirs is a collective aspiration,

Happiness but the ultimate goal of the human voyage

Yet some have been continually deprived;

To live happily is a vision in a blurry view

Acceptance is but a daily dream

This has reduced us but to redundancy, yielding amongst us victims of society wherein love is but hate and hatred borne with love.

Our lives are but same as everyone else, for while the void lasted, they reached a conclusion,

They gave us a switch of sadism for melancholy;

Their pain lies in low-self-esteem, self-pity, self-hate, and want for inner peace.

The hurt is being unhappy, unloved,

and worst still

Misunderstood as they awoke to the fate of the absurdist chasing after the meaninglessness of life in the best of its meaningless form

For the existential quest allotted they space in uncertain certainty,

While uncertainty looms;

Haste is made for fallacy is but a traditional religion

Examining every knowledge and assumptions.

The fear of annihilation in the hands of modern-day Nazis further alienates them from the rest of us;

As the chants of sadist echoes even loudest from all fronts,

Yet, just one thing is enough;

A world where we are free-born

 leading our lives freely as we celebrate and embrace our solitude

 so long the company of Eve’s offspring’s eludes us,

Lust is our momentary comfort working to kill the illusions of a protracted ailment, christened life

Whence our pains but grows yonder

That special someone always waiting by the door, standing, smiling, and holding hands, such as the companion that we seek

Though a million tears flow forever,

We would go on still until we are no more,

Because the last ray of redemption has been ripped away by the men of the dark, whose darkness knows no end;

Wherein all is lost,

We resort to our solitude for fate unknown beckons us all

While we wallow in solitude and distrust

Let the ray of shine wipe our illusions as we wash them away

Till then there is no such thing as joy, love peace, fate and life’s emptiness is but the vilest of all things and gloomy is the existence of mortal callous man.

Your lights shall become ours

Our lights shall become their source of life and a bearing for our darkened worlds

For we breathe forth hope and faith

To the downtrodden

The wretched of the earth

Whose toils and labours shall pay off!

As they bury their tomorrow in the earth

The almighty shall be their providence,

And whence their travails are over

Their song shall be heard loud

As they make merry with all of their beings and

Their lives shall become a beckon of light;

Faith and hope to the wretched of the earth

Thence forth; hope is the flame that keeps the candle burning
